Lambda Launches RoHS-Compliant Family of Eighth-Brick DC-DC Converters
SAN DIEGO, CA (February 14, 2005) - Lambda has launched the PAE family of highefficiency
eighth-brick DC-DC converters. The new converters are ideal for telecommunications
and data communications systems, or for systems using distributed power architectures that
need to comply with the Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) directive.
The PAE50 and PAE100 series are rated up to 20 and 30 amps, respectively, and both
series are available with 1.8- , 2.5-, 3.3- and 5-volt outputs – the 3.3-volt and 5-volt models
achieving efficiencies of as high as 90%. The units are rated for operation at from -40°C to
+85°C and can be cooled by either convection or forced air.
Features include over-current and over-voltage protection, remote sensing, output
adjustment trim, and remote on/off capability. Units measure 0.9 x 2.28 x 0.33 inches and share
the industry-standard eighth-brick pin-out. In addition to being RoHS compliant, the DC-DC
converters are CE marked and safety approved to UL60950, CSA60950 and EN60950
The PAE50 and PAE100 series are available now, with prices starting at $38 in 1,000-unit
quantities. More information can be obtained at Lambda’s Web site, www.lambdapower.com.
