Lambda Vega Modular Supply Series meet MIL-STD-810E Shock and Vibration

SAN DIEGO, CA (July 29, 2005) - Lambda has announced that its Vega series of modular power supplies meets MIL-STD-810E requirements. Following rigorous shock and vibration tests, the Vega met the functional shock, transit drop, bench handling, basic transportation and shipboard vibration requirements of the US military standard.

vega seriesThe tests, which included subjecting regular production units to 40G for 11ms, are designed to simulate the exposure of units to the demanding conditions of a military environment. Other tests included a 1.2m drop test on 26 faces, corners and edges and a vibration sweep test of ten cycles between 10Hz and 500Hz. Following the tests, each Vega was visually, mechanically and functionally inspected and found to be in full working order.

The Vega series can be configured from one to ten adjustable outputs and is available with a wide range of options including inhibit, module good, remote sense and parallel. No minimum loads are needed, and no engineering or minimum purchases are required making it ideal for low to medium volume applications.

Lambda's Vega models are CE marked in accordance with the LVD (Low Voltage Directive) and carry a host of environmental and safety agency approvals, including EN55022 Class B, UL60950-1, CSA22.2 No.60950-1, EN60950-1, IEC60950-1, EN61010-1, EN60601-1, and UL3101-1. Standard earth leakage current is 1.5 milliamps, or 300 microamps for medical applications.

Vega power supplies are available now, with prices starting at $390 each for a quad-output configuration in 50-unit quantities. More information can be found on Lambda's Web site,
