Lambda Introduces Fully Shielded DC-DC Converters Offering 4:1 Input Range
SAN DIEGO, CA (December 10, 2004) - Lambda has introduced a new family of single-, dual- and triple-output DC-DC converters
that provide a broad range of inputs for a variety of industrial applications. Comprising the PXD, PXE and PXF series,
the converters all feature a six-sided, shielded metal case that reduces radiated noise to meet EN55022 Level A
The PX series all have nominal DC inputs of 12, 24 and 48 volts. Some models offer a wide 4:1 input range of 9-36 or 18-75
volts, which reduces the number of parts that need to be inventoried at the user's facility and also enhances the
flexibility of the end system.
Footprints for the devices are all industry standard – PXD series models measuring 2 x 1 x 0.4 inches, PXE series
2 x 1.6 x 0.4 inches, and PXF 2 x 2 x 0.4 inches. The converters are available in power levels of 10, 15 and 20 watts
(PXD), 20 and 30 watts (PXE), and 40 watts (PXF), and each series offers output combinations of 3.3, 5, 12 and 15 volts.
The devices boast efficiencies of up to 90% and MTBF (mean time between failures) in excess of 1.4 million hours, are
safety-approved to UL60950 and EN60950 specifications, and carry the CE mark. Remote on/off and trim options are offered
in all package sizes.
The new PX family of DC-DC converters is available now, with prices starting at $52 in single-unit quantities. More
