Lambda Launches DIN Rail-Mount Power Supply Redundancy Module
SAN DIEGO, CA (November 9, 2004) - Lambda has introduced a DIN rail-mount power supply
module that can connect two power supplies in 1+1 redundancy. Applications for the new DLPPU
series include process control and critical monitoring equipment where downtime would
cause extensive and costly manufacturing delays.
The DLP-PU accepts up to two 20-amp inputs rated between 21 and 28 volts and
contains internal ORing diodes to isolate the effects of a faulty power supply on the system bus.
LEDs indicate input status, and the status of each output can be monitored using the power
supply's normally open or normally closed relay contacts; a fault is indicated if the input falls
below 19.2 volts or rises above 30 volts.
The new power unit measures a compact 3.81 x 4.33 x 1.97 inches and is rated 20
amps 60°C, derating to 12-amps at 70°C. The device is approved to UL508, UL60950,
EN60950 standards and carries the CE mark.
The DLP-PU is available now, with prices starting at $91 in single-unit quantities. More
information can be obtained at Lambda’s Web site, www.lambdapower.com.
