XR/XRDC Series

The XR Series are low cost solutions for high performance HV Capacitor Charging applications offering extremely low pulse to pulse repeatability. The XR-DC allows continuous DC operation with low ripple, and low stored energy. Employing TDK-Lambda Americas patented phase shifting parallel resonant converter topology the XR series supplies offers unrivalled pulse to pulse repeatability at extreme repetition rates. Unlike other manufacturers who claim high performance in data sheets, the XR series has demonstrated 0.1% pulse to pulse repeatability at repetition rates to 2kHz, in real field applications.

The XR802 shares many features with the standard 802, but in addition it is equipped with a phase shifting resonant inverter configuration which allows the charging current to be gradually reduced as the load voltage approaches the programmed level. This feature allows the XR802 supply to repetitively charge capacitive loads with pulse to pulse repeatability of 0.1% or better at repetition rates of 1kHz or more. This is a particular requirement of high performance systems where charge voltage variability results in process or dose variability and a reduction in process quality. TDK-Lambda Americas is the only power supply manufacturer currently offering this advanced performance in a compact 8kJ/sec air cooled package.
